Turnaround Buyer
Location: St. Paul Park, MN
Duration: Now- September 2022
Work Schedule: Work schedule is 4/10's ? Monday thru Thursday 6:30 ? 5:00 but Will be expected to work overtime during turnaround
Responsibilities
This Turnaround (TAR) Buyer position will be essential to the success of preparing for the refinery's TAR event expected to take place in July 2022 as well as navigate through the TAR.
This position's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the client business unit(s) to develop sourcing strategy and assess requirements for TAR materials
- Negotiate the obtaining of goods while upholding customer expectations, delivery requirements, and performance expectations while optimizing the cost of all materials
- Manage the process from requisitions into purchase orders, expedite, track, and correct any errors that take place within the purchase orders
- Collaborate with all supply chain operations and material management personnel
- Prepare and coordinate the execution of purchase orders and other supply documents in a manner that upholds the procurement strategies and policy
- Manage both local and regional supplier relationships to maximize on the value of the relationship and exchanges
- Analyze that the refinery materials meet the requirements of effectiveness, efficiency, and performance
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (Preferred majors include supply chain, finance, accounting, economics, business, and engineering OR related fields)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Specifically Excel)
- 1-5 years of experience in material procurement (Petrochemical background is desired)
- SAP experience is a plus
