PTS Advance is looking for a 3D CAD Designer for our client in Allentown PA for a contract to hire position.
The 3D CAD Designer relies on experience and judgment to plan and complete projects on-time including design, drawings and product documentation. Uses Inventor and AutoCAD automation tools to their fullest to minimize engineering effort on new projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D Autodesk Inventor models and drawings.
- Proficient in the use of tube and pipe and frame generator.
- Manages the design/drawing requirements for sub-assemblies of a project.
- Utilizes CAD automation tools wherever possible to drive productivity and accuracy within the design group.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation and ensure compliance to internal and external standards as assigned.
- Establishes Design Bill of Materials (BoM) for assemblies/projects as assigned.
- Work with Engineering team to ensure designs are optimized.
- Work is performed in a timely manner according to schedule dates and commitments.
- Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness and conformity to standard procedures and practices.
- Clarify specifications of selected components from suppliers.
- Actively participate in design reviews.
Minimum Education:
- Associates Degree* in Engineering related field.
- *An additional 5 years of applicable experience and Vocational/Technical Education in Design/Drafting and Mechanical Design or Equivalent can in lieu of the Associates Degree.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…
- 3D Modeling - Autodesk Inventor
- Knowledge of ISO, ASME Y14 "Drafting and Document' standards, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Familiarity with ERP (BOM) systems.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
