EHS Regional Coordinator/Manager
 
Looking for an Environmental Health & Safety professional to oversee multiple locations of construction and scrap metal type facilities in Orange County, CA. 
 
The EHS Regional Coordinator's primary function is to assist and ensure Safety and Environmental compliance with all Federal, State, local and company standards.  The EHS Regional Coordinator will act as a Safety Culture Change agent while implementing Corporate Safety & OSHA compliance programs such as the Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). Periodically monitor the maturity of the Safety Programs at assigned facilities. Ensure assigned facilities are complying with Corporate Safety & Health Policies.
  • Monthly Audits
  • Training (Regulatory and Company Policy, Ensure the staff understands what they need to do to remain regulatory compliant)
  • Yard Visits
  • Maintain Environmental Plans
  • Manage Regulatory Inspections
  • TRAC Reporting
  • Coordinate the implementation of the Management Communication Meeting (MCM) & actively participate and monitor progress and maturity.
  • Ensure specific PPE is evaluated and adequate for the task employees are engaged.
  • New Hire Training
  • Injury Reporting
  • Assist in Investigations
Assist in additional company initiatives and/or goals.
 
Must be a U.S. Citizen or have legal right to work in the US without sponsorship
 
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an occupational health / safety / environmental position in an industrial environment OR related degree required.
  • Ability to travel between responsible facility, maintain a valid Driver"s License, & have access to personal transportation is required to visit the various locations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with government regulators, insurance specialists, and legal professionals, as well as employees who may have been affected by an injury.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) required
  • Completion of Cal/OSHA 30-hour training in general industry, safety & health hazard recognition, & prevention preferred.
  • Completion of training in 511, 501, IIPP, incident investigation, industrial hygiene principles, respiratory protection, fall protection, LOTO, first aid & CPR, hazard communication, emergency response, Lead, and workers compensation principles training preferred.
  • Preferred experience with DTSC, Asbestos, Stormwater, 608 & 609 Certs
