FIELD ENGINEER - Junior or Entry Level
 
The primary responsibility of this Field Engineer or Project Engineer is to walk down pipe test packages and create punch lists.  Must have strong knowledge of piping and experience with system walk downs.   Able to read ISO's and P&IDs is a must.  Also be able to Identify support welds and confirm bolts are torqued properly.  Will be required to read support details and confirm proper field installation.  Additional responsibilities will be to assist the Project Engineer with project documentation, tracking and management of changes to the scope of work. The secondary responsibility of this Engineer may be to oversee, document, and report the daily activities of subcontractors on the project.  This includes preparing or assisting in the preparation of the status reporting systems required
for the project.   Mechanical Equipment & Piping experience is preferred but will train the right candidates.
 
Other duties of the Field Engineer are, or may include:
 
  *   Assist the Project Engineer as assigned with duties such as:
submittals, cost reporting; status reporting; project documentation; change order development, estimating and processing.
  *   Research construction problems for possible resolution.  This may
include preparing and submitting RFI's as required by the Project Engineer and/or Project Superintendents and Supervisors.
  *   Meet daily with the Project Engineer to report extra work items,
progress, problems, and concerns.
  *   Status subcontractors' work weekly to Scheduler by obtaining percent
complete of all tasks weekly from the subcontractors.
  *   Maintain written weekly log of subcontractors' activities.
  *   Maintain Extra Work Log for each subcontractor. Provide details of
additional scope change orders to the Project Manager as they happen so he or she may negotiate and process the change orders.
  *   Prepare document distributions to Subcontractors
 
Possible Project Specific Duties may include:
 
  *   Preparing written procedures for special work plans.
  *   Attend and document meetings.
  *   Project Document Control Responsibilities.
  *   Assure periodic audits for documents in the field take place to
verify the most current revisions are being used.
  *   Prepare and coordinate Pressure Test Packages.
  *   Perform expediting functions.
  *   Assist with the creation and control of Turnover Packages.
 
Must be able to pass standard drug and background checks.

Pay range: $30-$55 per hour (depending on experience).
