Location: Downtown Houston

The Logistics Coordinator facilitates and expedites the flow of materials to and from various locations and arranges for the storage of deliverable goods. Responsible for the successful, proactive sale and operation of export and import, sea, rail, barge and heavy haul activities across the company.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        Arrange for and coordinate all aspects of transportation and expediting services required for capital projects, field engineering and O&M as requested.

·        Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

·        Knowledge and compliance of all TSA, DOT and Customs regulations and accurate, efficient preparation of all required paperwork for delay-free forwarding.

·        Consult with suppliers to receive correct information on weights and dimensions of all freight and provide/coordinate with third party logistics carriers.

·        Manage communication between the third party logistics vendor, project team and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects.

·        Quality review the expediting process to identify and elevate potential shipment delays and direct a resolution or recovery plan.

·        Consult with suppliers and the jobsite to coordinate deliveries and identify, report and resolve discrepancies.

·        Maintain up-to-date and accessible files on bids and projects.

·        Select logistics carriers to help meet the company's needs in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.  

·        Provide accurate and timely updates of project status to all involved.

·        Manage performance of vendor relationships with third party trucking and freight forwarders.

·        Manage freight spend and schedule quarterly reviews with third party logistics partner, key carriers and Company management.

·        Attend on-site load/off load operations sites as required.

 

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

·        A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

·        A minimum of 2 years of experience in Freight Forwarding.

·        Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with clients, suppliers and colleagues.

·        Superb organizational skills with strong attention to detail and negotiating skills to resolve problems.

·        The ability to intuitively follow the logical flow of production and fabrication schedules and understanding the obligations involved with contracts and procurement.

·        Must be team oriented with strong management skills and the ability to organize tasks and be self-motivated with little or no supervision.
