Machinist 
 
Our client provides safe, reliable, retail hydrogen to customers of fuel cell electric vehicles. Their retail hydrogen network is the largest in the world today. This growth funding demonstrates the critical role that California is playing in global energy transformation by helping to expand and drive down the price of hydrogen fuel for long-term profitability and sustainability in developing a robust retail hydrogen network.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: MACHINIST
 
The primary responsibility of the Machinist will be to program, set-up, and operate CNC machines to manufacture precision pump parts. An element of the job will be to participate in design reviews with engineering to develop manufacturing processes and documentation and execute prototyping of general and rotating machinery components in accordance with concept drawings. This will also apply to specialized service and assembly tooling for our equipment in service.
 
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Develop manufacturing processes for high precision, high-alloy machine components.
  • Program, set-up, and operate precision mill and turn machinery to produce parts used in refueling stations and pumps.
  • Interpret engineering drawings to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
  • Program 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC mills and lathes with live tooling, or multi-spindle combination machines from 3D files and 2D schematics.
  • Select the appropriate tooling and fixturing to be used in manufacturing processes.
  • Examine and measure completed prototypes and production parts to identify any deviations and to ensure units conform to predetermined specifications; adjust machine controls to resolve production errors.
  • Work with the manufacturing group to select machinery for expansion, and to recruit new operators.
  • Work to develop processes and procedures for efficient and cost-effective production.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work area.
  • Comply with applicable safety standards and regulations.
  • Perform other relevant duties.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
  • Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
  • Ability to read engineering schematics utilizing the ISO and GD&T standards.
  • Ability to program in Esprit, Mastercam, CAMWorks or similar CAM software.
  • Excellent mechanical skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
