Job Summary     This role, with some supervision, will perform electrical maintenance and repair on production and facility equipment; will specify and order required repair parts and supplies; and assure a safe and healthful workplace. This position will also show by example a commitment to employee involvement, participative management, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities and Duties:          

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must have knowledge of shop mathematics and OHM's law.
  • Must be able to use electrical test equipment such as ammeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, etc.
  • Must be able to identify components in manufacturers and parts manuals
  • Must be able to make sketches of circuitry for troubleshooting.
  • Must know and comply with the National Electrical Code and other applicable codes.
  • Make out production reports, time cards and other reports or forms as required.
  • Installs, maintains and repairs all AC, DC and single or 3 phase electrical components, motors, starters, and related equipment on all types of equipment or buildings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair problems with variable frequency AC and DC motor drives.
  • Must be able to disassemble damaged or worn equipment/units, repairing/replacing defective components, reassembles and tests for proper operation.
  • Operate mobile equipment including aerial lifts.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on production equipment.
  • When performing any tasks involving hazardous chemicals or hazardous wastes, follow the regulations and requirements of SP Plan, RCRA regulations and operating procedures involving hazardous chemicals..
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to learn manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintains full compliance and conducts all activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic     

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Skills

  • Must be able to read and write Standard English and do simple math.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and ability.
