PTS Advance is looking for an experienced Materials Coordinator for a year or longer contract in Rodeo California for Refinery client.  Refinery experience a must have for this position.

LOCAL CANDIDATES Preferred. No per diem.

 

Overview:

Coordinate transfer of material. Ability to identify material needing to be transferred by properly searching/filtering MTO(s), Expediting Report, Material Receiving Reports and/or other reports.  Experience with creating/approving of transfer documents that includes material description, quantity, location, and other necessary details, to be signed for by necessary parties.  Access data and drawings, as necessary.  Utilize the Aconnex database to find data sheets, drawings, and various other documents to assist with contractors material handling needs etc.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all duties in accordance with refinery policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensure that all Materials Management activities are in alignment with HSE, SOX, Internal Control Standards, and the Procurement Policy.
  • Expedite all SAP goods movements in a timely manner to meet the requirements of the business and ensure SAP transactions accurately reflect physical material movements.
  • Document and report savings/value contributed to inventory/materials management.
  • Engage the field by conducting site visits, acting as subject matter expert (SME), and communicating corporate expectations with the field.
  • Support and use investment recovery, supplier diversity and supply chain management initiatives in the business.
  • Accept ownership of all materials compliance reports for the business.
  • Participate in company networks, sharing information, leveraging best practices, and maintaining functional excellence.
  • Conduct material receipt audits.
  • Audit contractors Material Receiving Reports against SAP exports (in Excel format) to identify unaccounted for material. Investigate missing material via information found from Expediting Report and SAP.

 

 

 

Required skills:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • 2 or more years of direct Materials Management experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft office suite such as Word, Excel.
  • Proficiency using the SAP program.
  • Aconnex experience highly preferred

 

Preferred:

  • BS in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and SAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet challenging deadlines and conflicting needs.
  • Must work well with multiple functional areas including engineering/operations, legal, finance, accounting, SAP support, global procurement, the procurement service center and upper management to ensure efficient operation of the business.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, strong attention to detail and a positive, results oriented attitude.
  • Proficient leadership, time-management, and people-skills
  • Safety Certification and Training Requirements

 

Other:

  1. Must pass a background check and drug test
  2. Current  Drivers license
  3. Current TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) or the ability to obtain one
