Mechanical Engineer
A leading global chemical company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support small cap projects at their Alvin, Texas location! From starting as a single site, they have grown significantly in a short amount of time. They are now seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer, with process industry experience, to start as soon as possible for a 6-12 month contract. There is a possibility for this to be long term.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years relevant work experience
- Process industry experience as a Mechanical Engineer
- Experience with industrial construction and TAR work
- Experience in a maintenance role preferred.
- Familiar with piping codes; especially ASME B31.3 and B31.4
- Familiar with pipeline design and construction
- Familiar with design and operation of process equipment (heat exchangers, pressure vessels, pumps, etc.)
- Must have an active TWIC card or be able to obtain one
- Must be willing to perform field visits as needed to local sites which may require scaling multiple flights of stairs and/or ladders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design of process equipment (heat exchangers, pressure vessels, pumps, etc.)
- Pipe sizing and routing of both in-plant piping and pipelines
- Piping and process equipment material selection
- Specification of insulation and coating systems
- Development of Inspection and Test Plans for new equipment and small cap projects.
- Ensure new infrastructure (piping, civil, structural) complements and supports existing facilities.
- Review of contractor proposals for new equipment and/or construction services
- As needed support of construction activities for capital projects or TAR work
- Participate in HAZOP/PHA/LOPA studies
- Conduct Management of Change activities to ensure OSHA/PSM compliance
