MECHANICAL DRAFTER
Client: Refinery
Location: Norco, La
Duration: Now- long term

Software: Cadworx & Autocad, Must know how to do modeling and 3D modeling.
Role Description:
Position provides support to engineering or client's design team by providing layout, detailed drawings, sketches, diagrams, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Read and maintain an understanding of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's)
- Perform field ISO sketches with the proper symbols
- Perform drawing corrections
- Perform field verifications
- Utilize safe work practices and basic safety PPE as may be necessary
- Perform entry in AutoCAD
- Use AutoCAD or drafting software to develop designs
- Complete new CAD drawings to file for reference purposes
- Update existing CAD drawings to reflect modifications and improvements to existing jobs
- Develop sketches on proposed drawings and flow sheets Confirm designs are consistent with client's site drafting and engineering standards
- Maintain and organize drawing filing system
- Work with engineering, other professionals, and SMEs to obtain input to recommendations
- Participate in technical reviews of specifications, designs, codes, and other requirements
Qualifications & Skills for Success:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working drafting and design in the petrochemical industry (preferred)
- Knowledgeable of various petrochemical standards and codes: ANSI, ASME, PFI, etc.
- Ability to read and understand multiple discipline drawings including piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, structural, and architectural
- Ability to comprehend rough sketches and specifications in order to update existing drawings as well as creating new drawings
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Advanced knowledge of basic petrochemical industry engineering design standards
- Proficient with Adobe Acrobat
- Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs, etc.
- High level of technical and scientific knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems
- Ability to understand field changes and red-line drawings
