Role: Plant/Maintenance Engineering Technician

Location:  Rochester, NY

Our client develops, manufactures, and markets high-quality medical diagnostic devices used in various areas of the healthcare industry. This company started in 1939 and developed the world's first test for the detection of antibodies against HIV and hepatitis C. Fast forward to today, they produce lifesaving medical diagnostic devices that are positively assisting medical teams across the world. The business is looking to add an engineering technician to their experienced manufacturing team.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and set up manufacturing equipment per applicable documentation.
  • Support manufacturing in the timely repair of machinery and equipment to ensure line productivity and uptime.
  • Address production maintenance demands in timely manner to meet production schedules.
  • Perform root-cause analysis, communicate recommendations, and implement solutions that prevent reoccurrence.
  • Provide enhanced support to facilities calibration and maintenance.
  • Participate in the transfer of new production lines.
  • Provide input and technical support to new projects.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum certificate or AAS in mechanical/electrical technologies or related field, or completed an apprenticeship, and/or formal automated equipment mechanic training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 12 months relatable work experience. Knowledge of automated machinery and related subsystems is recommended.
  • Familiarity with CMMS; Maximo experience highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and schematics, shop materials, and mechanical and electrical drawings.
