Job Summary:
The job will be as an Operations Assistant is responsible for performing administrative tasks to support daily operations supporting the Production and Plant Manager. Their duties include assisting with closure of Audit action items against the facility. Edits to Standard Operating Procedures, coordinating training for employees at the site, issuing and receiving for Purchase orders, purchase card invoice processing and other duties as described below. Experience with Management of change documents, P&IDs, PFDs and other Key Equipment Documentation is preferred. The right candidate will have some experience in working with Process Plants and can transition into training to become a Production Technician if the opportunity arises.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities for Operations Assistant:
● Meets or exceeds the company's safety goals, standards and policies
● Fully supports, instills, and reinforces corporate health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
● Maintains a safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly operating facility
Assists and works closely with Plant Management to address facility needs including
● Provides administrative support for the management team by maintaining records and tracking information; preparing reports and coordinating activities, and other duties as directed.
● Assist with time entry and payroll validation/processing.
● Maintains office supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting supply orders; verifying receipt of supplies evaluating new products.
● Assist management with Management of Change (MOC) closure. Update P&IDs, isometrics and key operating design books in library
● Maintains records on Team Google Drive
● Enters Visitors on Visitor Sheet
● Ensures operation of equipment by completing or scheduling preventive maintenance; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
● Manages the p-card reconciliation, entering invoices into database for approval
● Coordinate employee and contractor badging for access into facility, including arranging random drug & alcohol testing and Chevron badge training
● Contributes to additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Essential Requirements:
● Has an appreciation of nature of industrial process facilities and importance of regulatory compliance
● Demonstrated safety experience in a processing plant or similar work environment
● Demonstrated initiative and self motivation
● Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, written and spoken English at the 12th grade level
● Able to perform basic math functions
● Able to use Google Workspace and MS Office software
● High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Requirements:
● Flexible individual that can perform administrative duties but also has the drive to learn more about the process leading to a Technician role
● Previous experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) or Risk Management Plan (RMP) facility
● 2+ years of operator/process technician experience in a continuous operation processing plant (chemical plant, refinery, or similar operation)
● Process Technician (AA) degree
● Knowledgeable in processing plant environmental requirements
● Experienced in process troubleshooting, optimization and maintenance troubleshooting
● Familiar with distributed process control systems
● Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to wear required safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing
● Ability to climb and ascend vertical ladders as required
● Has an appreciation of nature of industrial process facilities and importance of regulatory compliance
