- The Sr. Project Controls Specialist provides project controls support to the EPCM Team through the Design-Build Process. Roles include but are not limited to: estimate validation; cost reporting (internally and external Client reports); invoice development; work process outlines and support documentation development; Level 1 and II schedule development; implementing schedule changes; updating schedule earned progress; forecasting / trending; Change Management; performs as primary Project Controls role on projects and supports the Project Controls Team on various projects as needed. Collaborates through the life cycle of project delivery with: Estimating, Project Controls, Procurement/Contracts; Finance; sub-contractors; Project and Field Engineering; Construction Management; internal resources and management; administration and document control; and perform client interface.
- Duties:
- Primavera experience: building schedules (high level milestones and lump sum level activities); analyzing schedules; updating schedules
- Experience with scheduling: Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Start-up, Handover (not seeking a TAR/shutdown scheduler, commercial)
- Planning experience
- Experience with Earned Value Reporting and Schedule of Values
- Experience validating installed quantities
- Constructability experience is a plus
- Versed in the basic principles of project controls: cost analysis, change management, contract Ts&Cs
- Working for contractor and Client / Owner is a plus
- Cost analysis skills and strong Excel skills
- Open to receiving direction with an eagerness to learn and grow, open to coaching
- Willingness to coach less experienced sub-contractors for their success
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Attention to detail and keen eye for reviewing content, context, and format prior to issue of reports/ documentation
- Familiarity with Procore and/or InEight is a plus
- Home office and site experience is a plus
- Willingness to perform other functions and accept other responsibilities as needed
- 5-8 (or more) yrs of experience
- Six months minimum position, likely to convert to perm hire for the right candidate
- Environmental Conditions:
- May work from company offices or from home when not required to meet with clients, contractors and suppliers at remote sites or Project Related work locations.
- Work in varying weather conditions: hot, cold, and wet conditions.
- Works in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels.
- May work in areas with hazardous chemicals.
- May perform outdoor job walks on uneven surfaces.
- May be required to stand for long periods of time
- Education and Experience:
- 10 years minimum experience working in the Construction Engineering industry, Project Management and Execution
