Project Electrical Engineer-PER DIEM ELIGIBLE
Location: Greater Amarillo 
Rate: DOE
Schedule: 5/8s 
Length: 9-12 month contract

Overview: 
Our client is seeking a temporary electrical engineer for small capital and expense projects in the Project Engineering Department. The ideal candidate will be experienced with working low and medium voltage assignments as well as reviewing electrical designs. 

Responsibilities: 
  •  Provide engineering for small electrical projects, e.g., new pump motor installations, VFDs, electric-tracing, medium voltage breaker replacements
  • Ensure the creation and update of electrical drawings such as one-line diagrams, motor schematics, panel schedules, and other related drawings as part of every design package
  • Communicate with Design group on electrical design packages; review, revise and approve design packages
  • Provide functional and final checkouts of new and modified Electrical System Installations; review turnover documentation and test-sheets to validate testing results
  • Provide daily assistance to Maintenance for trouble shooting
  • Manage project budget, provide cost control and monthly forecasts
  • Develop technical bid solicitation packages for electrical equipment
  • Provide project cost estimates
  • Work with Operations, Safety, Maintenance and Environmental Departments
  • Prepare MOC (management of change) documents
  • Participate in PSSRs (pre-start-up safety review)

Qualifications: 
  • Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university
  • 5 years experience minimum in engineering/designing industrial power systems at voltage levels of 12.5KV and below
  • Familiar with API & NFPA standards as they relate to hazardous locations, electrical installation, and arc-flash hazards
  • Experience in programming settings on Allen Bradley VFDs and Multilins a plus
