Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Description:
The Quality Control Technician performs accurate and timely routine testing of lab samples and reporting in accordance with specified technical methods and environmental, health and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities:
* Performs accurate and timely inspections and testing of samples of raw materials, intermediate and finished goods.
* Maintains quality control records, including data entry into notebooks, logs, LIMS / Labworks software and ERP / SAP software.
* Issues timely notifications of nonconforming results as appropriate.
* Maintains retained samples and prevents detrimental exposures and contamination. Maintains traceability and retrievability of retained samples. Properly replenishes retained samples when running low.
* Maintains lab instrumentation, equipment and tools in safe and good working condition. Submits service, calibration or repair work orders when required.
* Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of reagents and lab supplies through prompt restocking requests to avoid shutdown.
* Maintains a clean and orderly workplace in accordance with Company requirements.
* Attends and participates in regular meetings.
* Completes periodic quality refresher and environmental health and safety training. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
Education and / or Equivalent Experience:
- Minimum associate degree of science in chemistry or a related field with hands-on laboratory coursework.
- Laboratory work experience demonstrating proficiency in wet and analytical chemistry, handling strong acids, strong bases, and organic solvents. Experience with industrial adhesives testing preferred but not required. Experience with mechanical testing is preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of safe lab practices.
Know-how and Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and priority setting in a fast pace environment
- Proven understanding of day to day business activities, reporting and operations
- Computer literacy. Proficient in MS Office. Knowledge of SAP and Labworks preferred but not required.

Tiered Qualification Scale
- This role follows a tiered qualification system based on knowledge of administrative functions and test methods, and mastery of skills. Reference 6501-D QC Technician Qualifications and appended chart.
- The tier qualification system includes peer to peer training requirements and structured assessments to progress through the tiered program.
- The tier program is structured as follows:
- Tier 1 - Entry Level Chemistry
- Tier 2 - Mastery of Wet & Analytical Testing
- Tier 3 - Mastery of Mechanical Testing
- Tier 4 - Mastery of Cutting & Etching
- Multi-Skill Tier - Knowledge of Customer-Specific Requirements, Industry Certifications, Product Qualifications and Test Method Development
