Purpose
Plan, direct, supervise, and when necessary personally perform, Nooter Construction Company quality control functions and activities as established by corporate policy to ensure corporate policies are met.
Formal Policy Setting Responsibilities
Work in conjunction with Corporate Quality Manager to set quality department policies and recommend quality related corporate policy changes to senior management.
Routine Decision Making / Problem Solving
Determine compliance with Code, client, and company requirements and direct appropriate actions to ensure conformance to all requirements.
Formal Supervisory Responsibility
Supervise and lead all permanent and temporary Quality Assurance and Quality Control staff.

Conduct regular walk-downs and inspections of construction projects, including safety audits, to audit craft and administrative work in progress or completed work for compliance with customer and code requirements.  The ability to enter confined spaces, climb and wear all appropriate personal protection will be required.

Required knowledge
Working knowledge of ASME Codes especially B31.3, B31.1, Section I, V, VIII, IX.
Required skills or abilities
NDT equipment normally associated with Nooter Construction projects, such as dye penetrant test kits, magnetic particle test kits, hydro test equipment, x-ray, etc. Computer software: Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint); use of the Internet.
Formal education
A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience is required. AWS-Certified Welding Inspector.
Experience
Extensive, ten or more years, of construction industry experience in the quality assurance field is necessary.  It is vitally important the prior experience generated a thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and codes, jurisdictional requirements and their impact on project activities.
