Job Description
The Project Scheduler is a key role in the Project Services group, which supports the Project Engineering Department.  
The Client's Project Services Group is comprised of a mix of company direct and contract staff and supports the planning, scheduling, cost control, and cost estimating for all Capital and related expense associated with delivery of 120+ projects. 

This Project Scheduler role has the primary responsibility of providing engineering, procurement, construction planning and scheduling expertise for the capital projects portfolio from project initiation through project closeout.  Our goal is to provide planning and scheduling solutions that are driven by safety and support the fundamental objectives of the business.
 
 Responsibilities Include:
  • Support development of the Scheduling Team KPIs.
  • Coordinate day-to day activities with the Project Engineering and Construction Teams.
  • Coordinate the initial development of pre-FID engineering, procurement and construction schedules through full integration of engineering, procurement and field executable construction schedules.
  • Provide assurance on schedules submitted by contractors according to the project guidelines.
  • Analyze schedule logic, activity durations, constraints, float, resource loading, critical path(s) and leveling resources as needed to support project constraints.
  • Perform schedule assurance reviews of project schedules in preparation for the applicable gate review.
  • Ensure engineering contractors meet deadlines in accordance to the project guidelines.
  • Produce Project Management reports that effectively communicate project performance, concerns, and other indicators of schedule performance.
  • Participate in schedule risk workshops to establish schedule contingency, as needed.
  • Apply, monitor, and report schedule contingency.
  • Update and align project codes, resources, activity codes, and WBS.
  • Monitor and record approved schedule changes.
  • Participate in IPA benchmarking and other site audits as needed.
  • Manage stage gate baselines.
  • Align all stakeholders during development of engineering, procurement and construction schedules; including integration with construction management and TAR representatives.  This includes leading Schedule/Planning sessions for projects.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a historical database of scheduling activities, durations and overall cycle times.
  • Collaborates with the larger Project Controls organization to ensure that schedules and subsequent resource hours are in alignment with estimates, and cash flow forecasts
  • Support efforts on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work directly with Project Management Team  
  • Manage the development of Pre-FID construction schedules 
  • Coordinate monthly schedule deliverables 
  • Complete post-project work

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Technical degree preferred - will consider relevant work experience
  • Proficient using Primavera version R15.2 or greater
  • 5 years' experience as a projects scheduler in an oil refining/petrochemical manufacturing environment
  • Hands on experience supporting a portfolio of projects (25-50)
  • Advanced knowledge of portfolio scheduling practices and integration of turnaround events
