Environmental Wetlands Scientist
Progressive and growing environmental consulting firm with offices in NJ and PA, has an immediate opening in their Bethlehem, PA office for an Environmental Wetland Scientist. The preferred candidate should have a background in wetland and water resources and environmental permitting compliance, including sustainable and resilient wetland creation/restoration, streambank restoration and stabilization, threatened and endangered species habitat assessments, construction oversight, contractor coordination, and environmental remediation.

Responsibilities: Duties will include, but not be limited to, habitat characterization surveys (wetland, streams, and vegetation), sampling of environmental media, restoration design/planning, field surveys, construction compliance oversight and documentation, post-construction monitoring, report writing, and environmental permitting.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in an ecological field and five years' experience or Master's degree and Three or more years of experience

Job requirements can include but are not limited to:

1. Training/certifications in wetland delineation (Professional Wetland Scientist, Wetland Professional in Training)
2. Experience in freshwater and tidal brackish ecosystems
3. Interest in sustainable and resilient habitat design and restoration
4. Experience sampling environmental media
5. Experience with GIS and GPS
6. Ability/flexibility to travel to NJ/PA sites, traverse uneven terrain, and work extended hours
7. Experience in compilation, depiction, and analysis of survey/sampling data (Excel).
8. Experience in report writing
9. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
10. Knowledge of NJ, PA, and USEPA environmental regulations
11. Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
12. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
13. Must have experience in environmental consulting
