Our client is a major refinery in the Los Angeles area serving the fuel transportation and aviation fuel needs of the western United States. Operates an integrated network of strategic assets that creates and sells refined petroleum products, from feedstock acquisition to wholesale, commercial and retail sales outlets.

 

Minimum of 10 years Instrument Design experience, preferably in a refinery or petrochemical plant.  Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel software. Know Instrument Design related codes, standards and specifications.

Performs all intermediate level Instrument designs, layout, checking, and drafting functions for any given project.  P&ID layout, loop diagrams, instrument index, standard detail development and good knowledge of ISA standards.

Understands and interprets process schemes, control schemes and objectives for translation into P&ID's.

Checks final construction drawings for accuracy and constructability; minimize field changes.

Assists with the preparation of estimates, drawings, and B.O.M.

Directs and supervises field contractors during construction as required.

Skill in providing thorough, efficient, and effective customer service to individuals at all levels within the organization.

Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods.

Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes.

Ability to work with others to accomplish challenging assignments.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments to ensure completion of tasks within stated time requirements.

Will be responsible for issuing new instrument tag numbers and maintaining an instrument index database, developing complex IFC work packages for projects, including drawings, specifications and narrative description as required.  

Experience in SmartPlant (InTools) preffered.

Experience in SAP preffered.

Pay:  $45hr - $75hr depending on experience
