Principal/Lead Piping Designer
You will develop equipment and piping design including equipment layout and nozzle orientation where applicable using process information ( PFD, P&ID) as the basis to support project deliverable requirement. Design activities covers all phases of project development including PDP, FEED and Detail engineering.
WORK PERFORMED:
- Ensures the qualitative design of the installation in his/her discipline in one project within contractual requirements and standards and procedures in coordination with other disciplines.
- Ensures the accuracy of the material take off.
- Monitor/control manpower and expenditures for assigned projects within budget limits. · Assist supervisor in developing procedures and standards. · Assist supervisor in proposal efforts.
- Set design work priorities for assigned projects.
- Supervise, review and approve work done by assigned designers.
- Review and approve project drawings. · Maintain communication with project team, client, field, etc.
- Assist assigned engineers and designers in the resolution of technical engineering/design problems.
- Attend staff, client and vendor meetings.
- Implement quality and training programs.
- Engage in self-study efforts to maintain and expand technical proficiency.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- 15 minimum years of experience
- Good to have, but not required: Technical Diploma OR Engineering Diploma with 3 years of experience in Design and execution of the Projects in the area of onshore or offshore facilities.
- Significant working experience in 3D modeling - SP3D
- Working knowledge of related codes and standards.
- Familiar with related construction/fabrication techniques.
