Senior Piping Engineer - Boston, MA

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Piping Engineer to join our Boston, MA office to work on exciting Energy Transition, Circular Economy and Petrochemical projects. As Senior Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and engineering of critical process piping systems from conceptual design through plant startup and providing technical services for operating facilities.
Our Senior Piping Engineer will:
*    Develop and maintain specifications for piping materials, piping components, valves, and specialty item
*    Assist in the development of piping design criteria and guidelines
*    Perform pipe stress analysis to ensure compliance with applicable codes
*    Design and qualify engineered pipe supports
*    Perform pressure design calculations including minimum wall thickness, branch reinforcement, bend/miter fittings pressure capacity, external pressure, hydrostatic test pressure, etc.
*    Prepare piping and equipment layouts, piping isometrics and pipe support drawings
*    Prepare technical bid evaluations, review vendor documentation, and work closely with vendors through fabrication and delivery of critical piping components and equipment
*    Interface with other engineering disciplines on issues concerning piping specifications, valves, process design, and piping systems flexibility
*    Travel to field sites and provide technical support to the field during construction, pre-commissioning and startup
*    Cross-train and support other mechanical engineering roles such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment
Qualifications:
*    BS Mechanical Engineering or higher degree.
*    Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience is preferred.
*    Must be skilled in 2D AutoCAD. Experience with 3D modeling is preferred.
*    EIT/PE license or willingness to obtain.
*    Familiar with applicable codes and standards, such as ASME BPVC, B31.1, B31.3, ASTM, API, MSS, and NACE.
*    Experience with commercially available pipe stress software, particularly CAESAR II, is a plus.
*    Strong analytical skills and experience with FEA is a plus.
