Project Planner
Role Description:
Position develops detail job plans for mechanical resources according to client's goals and objectives. Position also develops field execution work planning packages for mechanical resources engaged in repairs and construction of fixed equipment, electrical, instrumentation, rotating equipment, analyzers, and other related equipment. Position coordinates and facilitates mechanical resources (work crew) according to client's project schedules and execution plans.
Job Responsibilities:
Develops detailed job plans that include the following steps, durations, material and equipment needs and cost estimates
Coordinate planning resources in accordance with project specifications, cost estimates, schedules, safety requirement, quality requirements, various procedures, standards, practices, etc.
Work with scheduler and execution to provide general coordination and monitor the progress of project activities per the job plans and worklists
Coordinate multi-craft job plans as needed
Update plans with any approved change orders and develop new plans which arise during the project as requested by client
Coordinate execution during the various phases of the project
Analyze and recommend resolutions of work problems and execution in solving work problems
Adjust plans with feedback from execution
Walk down job packages and verify with prints and drawings
Perform pre-start up safety review
Create punchlists from pre-start up safety reviews
Confirm with execution the progress of key project milestones
Develop detailed milestone plans and submits to scheduler
Manage detailed line item work list
Include job plans for resources to support operations shutdown and start up plans
Perform critical and near critical path analysis
Work directly with scheduler to finalize and optimize integrated event or project schedule
Validate work steps and durations with team members and contractors
Prepare review documentation
Steward schedules and updates throughout the process
Prepare package tasking details to guide field crews to perform safe and efficient field repairsCoordinate contractor activities, attend daily meetings, and complete and issue daily reports
Provide general coordination and facilitation as well as monitor and forecast the progress of activities in schedules by assessing or measuring physical progress in field construction as well as highlighting problem areas and recommending remedial actions
Communicate permit needs to Operation Representative at start of shift
Interface with other project support resources as required by job plans as well as act as a liaison with team leaders in order to communicate required completion dates
Confirm material, as required by job plans, are available on job site
Evaluate the allocation of resources and providing recommendations in order to maintain required progress
Qualifications & Skills for Success:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a planner in the petrochemical industry (preferred)
