Job Title: Assistant Lab Manager

Job Summary:
The Assistant Lab Manager assists in overseeing laboratory operations in an oil and gas refinery, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance. This role includes managing personnel, equipment, and data, and contributing to research and development efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain Gas Chromatograph, Mass Spectrometer, and Inductive Coupled Plasma instruments.
- Perform annual "Performance Testing" studies for regulatory compliance.
- Assist in maintaining the laboratory's Quality Control/Assurance program.
- Resolve analytical issues and enforce the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
- Collaborate with plant operations for troubleshooting and sample analysis.
- Oversee training of new hires and maintain proficiency among staff.
- Manage the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Develop and document laboratory test methods and SOPs.
- Analyze incoming samples and outgoing products.
- Ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Handle personnel management tasks, including timesheets and performance reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory manager.
