Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Engineering Technologist to join our Mechanical Engineering team. In this role, you will assist engineers and project leads in identifying, extracting, and organizing technical data from a variety of sources. You will support project schedules, reporting, document reviews, and coordination across multiple engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technologically adept, and demonstrates strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Support engineers and project leads in tracking information, locating documents, and maintaining open item punch lists.
Perform data searches and organize technical information for easy retrieval and analysis.
Assist in the preparation of technical documents, CAD updates, and back-checking drawings.
Support meeting presentations, including creating slides and materials.
Maintain quality standards while executing tasks on schedule.
Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure smooth workflow.
Maintain Key Process Improvement registers and contribute to a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Required Qualifications:
Level 1: Associate of Arts/Science degree (or international equivalent) with 1-2 years of relevant experience, OR no degree with 4-5 years of relevant experience.
Level 2: Associate of Arts/Science degree (or international equivalent) with 3-4 years of relevant experience, OR no degree with 5-6 years of relevant experience.
U.S. citizenship required.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
Strong aptitude for collecting, organizing, and presenting technical data using relational databases.
Analytical skills to identify, classify, and monitor technical information within large documents and datasets.
Attention to detail and ability to accurately capture relevant technical information.
Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple disciplines and functions.
Interest in learning to draft intelligent piping and instrumentation diagrams.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience on government, defense, or large-scale engineering projects.
Familiarity with project execution environments similar to Bechtel or DOE/DOD projects.
