osition Overview: We are seeking a skilled professional to provide AutoCAD Civil 3D support for solid waste and environmental projects for both private and municipal clients. Our projects primarily focus on horizontal construction, so we need a candidate with experience in preparing plan and profile views, creating cross-sections, complex grading, and cut/fill balancing. This role involves collaborating with our engineering team to incorporate mark-ups, prepare figures, and draft permit/construction drawings. You will work independently on tasks and projects with the support of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare sheet sets, design, draft, detail, and layout graphics with limited supervision.
- Create site plan layouts from existing maps, incorporate corrections to existing drawings, and evaluate existing conditions surveys.
- Develop permit and construction-level documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Perform volume calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Create design surfaces, manage topographical survey surfaces, and integrate design surfaces into existing conditions.
- Apply and adhere to appropriate AutoCAD standards and best practices.
- Support all aspects of drafting or AutoCAD under the supervision of the lead professional.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of drafting experience.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- At least 2 years of experience in grading landfills, gypsum stacks, coal combustion residuals, or large-scale mining operations.
- Preference for candidates with experience in engineering consulting firms.
