Commercial Advisor - Operations Technology
Pay Range: $60-75hr
Location: Findlay, OH or San Antonio, TX. Ideally would like candidate to sit on site.
Duration: 6 month contract with potential to get extended
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-5

 Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains relationships with key suppliers to ensure service, commercial terms, and optimal leverage.  As needed, develop and track KPIs for measuring performance for key suppliers and facilitate issues resolution related to supplier performance.
  • Collaborates with the assigned business units to assess all requirements and develop sourcing and contracting strategies for goods and services. Support the development, management, and execution of commercial initiatives and strategies.
  • Fosters communication internally, externally, and between different operational functions. First line point of contact for operating needs, concerns, and Supply Chain support.
  • Receives and reviews purchase requisitions for materials and services for completeness and proper level of approval.
  • Evaluates competitive bids and quotations against purchase order commitments. Maintains documentation as appropriate for all purchases.
  • Expedites purchase commitments to ensure on time delivery and acceptable performance by suppliers, to meet the needs of business partners from order entry through invoice payment.
  • Utilizes Supply Chain tools, templates, systems, and documents related to the management of commercial terms and conditions.
  • Collaborates with Supply Chain peers to drive continuous improvement, alignment, and best-in-class process optimization.
  • Utilizes practices such as RFQs, bid analysis, negotiations and partnering to ensure maximum value for expenditures. Seeks new practices and methods to increase value of services.
  • Interprets commercial, financial, & business data in order to minimize risk in Supply Chain processes while supporting operating components' service requirements. Notifies business partners of associated operating risks and qualifies contractors to assure appropriate criteria are adequately addressed.
  • Liaises with other Supply Chain and legal professionals to ensure that contractual terms and conditions are acceptable and serve to minimize risk as needed during the purchasing process.
  • Performs moderately complex price analysis and confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
  • Ability to work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
  • Demonstration of specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in IT Procurement practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead functional teams or projects; to identify and implement best practices and improvement ideas.  Ability to identify and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
  • Solves and leads others to solve complex problems; using sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.
                   - Responsible for the development and execution of global Supplier and Category strategies driving long-term improvements in service,                           quality, cost, delivery, and innovation, enhancing the competitive and commercial performance of the company and its customer base
                  - Manage a complex portfolio across a number of key suppliers
                  - Executes the relevant Category strategies across the managed portfolio by leading the sourcing process, negotiating with approved                              suppliers, culminating in a contract that meets the product or service requirements. 
                 - Manages the commercial and contractual relationships within their portfolio ensuring commercial issues are appropriately and                                        expeditiously resolved.
                 - Assists in developing a robust process and governance framework to guide the day-to-day global activities of the Global Procurement                          group on a consistent basis, and support the continuous improvement initiatives to satisfy the business needs in terms of efficiency and                        effectiveness
               - Develops, maintains, and executes the portfolio of Category and Supplier Strategies. Leads the procurement and sourcing processes while                   maintaining strict compliance with purchasing systems, processes, and policies. Applies tools, techniques, and processes to develop robust                   strategies, manage the supplier relationship, and identify areas of improvement and/or corrective actions
               - Manages key suppliers to meet business objectives, partnering with these suppliers to build capabilities that meet the expanding needs of                     the business through effective service, quality, cost, delivery, and innovation performance
              - Provides input towards the continuous improvement of Global Procurement's capability development including process development, tool                       enhancement/deployment, and professional excellence programs of work
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating requests for procurement of Information Technology (IT) hardware, software, and services
  • Develop and implement the Global Master Category Strategy for IT Cybersecurity & Hardware
  • Ensure on-time delivery of quality product which support financial planning and sourcing
  • Conduct supplier business unit reviews which allow stakeholders to stay abreast of current and future technologies
  • Provide direct support to business owners for fast issue closure and relationship development
  • Lead RFI/RFP/RFQs to obtain information which support the category strategy development and competitive cost delivery of various IT 
  • Work directly with business owners to develop year-over-year product/service cost position
  • Attend internal and external workshops with key stakeholders for continued process improvements
  • Drive and support Supply Base optimization and strategic priorities through leverage of the Enterprise spend
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships within the various internal business units and department to further algin on strategic category vision and savings opportunities

  • Prestigious Financial Company is currently seeking a IT Strategic Sourcing Procurement Specialist. Candidate will support the execution of strategic sourcing & business strategies in a collaborative team-based environment to achieve company goals. Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to drive sourcing transactions with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions while maintaining/improving product quality and enhancing supplier service levels. This includes RFx development, facilitation, scorecard, analysis, vendor selection, negotiations and issue resolution.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in managing within IT Procurement. 
  • Bachelor's Degree - Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, Finance, IT or Engineering required.
  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • 6-10 years of purchasing, contracts or related Commercial experience
  • Minimum 4 years sourcing experience in IT spend categories procuring computer technology products and services, including hardware, software, cloud services, and support
  • Extensive experience negotiating with IT vendors and a solid understanding of IT technologies
  • Strong enterprise technology business acumen (i.e. hardware, software, and services) C.P.M. or C.P.S.M. certification beneficial.
  • Good interpersonal communications skills and a strong focus towards customer service

  • Strong communicator that can effectively transition from bottom-up details to concise, clear executive-level messaging.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking for category strategy development
  • Ability to build relationships and trust across organizations to drive decisions and alignment.
