Our client is constructing a state-of-the-art anaerobic digestion project near Fresno California.
They are looking for a Construction Manager to be Owners' representative at project construction sites. Has overall Construction Management (CM) accountability and is responsible for working with the Contractor Construction Managers for ensuring consistency in overall site contractor management.
The Construction Manager will also be responsible to:
- Provides construction safety leadership in the field and making sure construction safety is incorporated into the project design and execution plan.
- Establishes process for monitoring construction contractors to ensure that safety quality, schedule, and cost performance targets will be met.
- Works with engineering to ensure receipt of engineering materials and IFC drawings support the construction schedule.
- Identifies and shares risks to construction delivery and ensure adequate risk mitigation and contingency plans are in place.
- Accountable for identifying all extra work including any associated cost or schedule impacts that may result. Ensures the change order procedures are being followed for extra work authorization before it proceeds.
- Responsible for ensuring contractors plan for receipt and management of all construction materials once issued to the work sites including all preservation activities to maintain equipment integrity.
- Responsible for minimizing field rework and when it occurs making sure that vendors and contractors are held financially accountable.
- Responsible for ensuring construction learnings are documented and shared with others and incorporated into Project/Construction Management Best Practices as applicable.
- Responsible for ensuring the construction contractors provide red line mark back to engineering so that drawings can be as-built.
- Participate in weekly contractor meetings which include the EPC contractor, Project Manager, and other key project stake holders.
- Responsible for tracking construction contractor performance (both safety, quality, and schedule).
- Responsible for evaluating proposed subcontractors and ensuring they can meet minimum site requirements for safety and quality.
- Produce regular (monthly and weekly) reports of activities, progress, and concerns on site. Evaluate contractors monthly and weekly reports for completeness and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous multi-site Construction management experience dealing Contractors (minimum of 5 years on site experience)
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, but not required
- Experience managing multiple job sites, with multiple trades
- Experience with Process Piping, Civil, Mechanical and Electrical
- Ability to problem solve and lead by example
- Organized and detail oriented
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to be able to communicate with trades, construction and project management and leadership.
- Ability to work independently but also take direction from Project and construction management as needed.
- Basic computer skills to be able to gather and disseminate information
