Job Description:
Construction Manager 
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manage construction contracts for Natural Gas Fueling stations by evaluating specifications to plan procedures, setting project goals and deadlines, prioritizing schedules, and overseeing staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
  • Manage change orders to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
  • Partner with the Project Team to channel communication with clients on change orders.
  • Inspect the work in progress, drawings, and specifications to ensure that workmanship conforms to contract specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
  • Interface with respective public and regulatory officials including building inspectors ensuring proper inspections.
  • Oversee Contractors, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Conduct construction activities within federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations.
  • Act as a liaison with Engineering in order to resolve contract disputes and claims.
  • Act as a liaison with the on site project team.
  • Travel as required to be on site full time for the duration of the project.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 
Supervisory Responsibilities:                               
  • Directly supervise a team of employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:         
  • Bachelor's Degree; 7+ years of related experience and/or training and 2-5 years of management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.

 
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

 

Mathematical Skills:          
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Computer Skills:      
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Project and Outlook. Proficient in Project Management Systems (Procore), Bluebeam, and Primavera P6.
