Design Drafter 
This 6 month contract role shall be located in Houston, TX. Support Document Control department with managing and evolving their Engineering (Electronic) Document Management System called Meridian. Main objectives are: organizing digital documents, researching and creating large registry list(s) and merging multiple lists to one, gathering source files in the resulting final list
 and importing files into our client's EDMS Meridian as well as beginner level drafting of CAD drawings. The candidate shall possess expertise to interface with the drafting department as well as the industrial IT departments charged with the application support of Meridian.

Location: 9811 Katy Freeway, Houston TX 
Duration: 6 months (Contract to hire) 
Pay Rate: $43.60 per hour 
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8:00AM-5:00PM) 1 hour unpaid lunch 

Responsibilities: 
● Organize ±20K digital (engineering) CAD documents stored on a network drive with minimal metadata.
 ○ Process (OCR, automation, manual entry) document content/metadata to populate registry and
 review the attributes of the CAD drawings found and ensure the validity and quality of these
 documents/drawings.
 ● Research and populate registry for importing ±3K MS Excel, Powerpoint, Visio and Word documents.
 ● Prepares documentation import packets for approval into the EDM System.
 ○ Assists with importing approved electronic document packages.
 ● Maintains, organizes, and updates documents in electronic drawing management systems.
 ○ Assists with immediate requests from Operations to have any specific documents not found in
 the repository processed and/or imported to ensure quality assurance and quality control of
 engineering documents
 ○ Assist in classifying electronic content in the existing Meridian and perform basic drafting
 actions as well as simple corrections in the CAD drawings/documents
 
 Priority 2:
 ● Operate data capture technology to digitize and import ±80K non-CAD (IMG, TIF, PDF) documents in
 Meridian.
 ● Perform other duties as assigned by manager: assisting with writing document control procedures and
 work instructions such that documents are compliant and applications are easy to use.
 Qualifications
 ● This position requires a hands-on individual contributor who has organized work habits, is capable of
 working on and tracking a large number of tasks in a fast-paced environment and needs minimal
 supervision.
 ● Strong communication and organization skills both verbal and written
 ● Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing data, problem identification and resolution, and ability to
 generate clear/concise reports indicating key issues

Requirements: 
● Bachelor's degree preferred.
Having worked with Accruent Meridian EDMS or other electronic document management system
 ● Proficient in MS Office and preferably Google Suite applications
 ● Experienced level of expertise in creating VBA-macros, advanced lookups and/or functions in MS
 Excel, Access, Google Sheets or other applications.
 ● Minimum beginner level expertise in Computer Aided Design CAD software: Autodesk AutoCAD.
 ● 2 years of previous document control experience in an engineering, construction, or technical office is
 preferred
 ● Drive safety, quality, and excellence in all aspects of work
 ● Attention to Detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
 ● Analytical Thinking - Job requires analyzing information and using logic to address work-related
 issues and problems.
