Document Control/Quality Control Coordinator
PTS is looking for an experienced Construction Quality Control Coordinator to join our team!
The essential functions of this position include onsite presence and responsibility for onsite quality inspection operations daily.
Job Title: Document Control/Construction Quality Control Coordinator
Location: Project Based in Epes, Alabama (Travel from select states approved)
Pay Range: $45-51.75 per hour (Based on Experience)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Additional Compensation: Role eligible for project Completion Bonus
Project Duration: 10 months (may be extended)
Responsibilities:
This will include but not limited leading all quality construction activities using applicable field-testing procedures and testing equipment to perform required field, civil/structural, mechanical inspections, and testing, as well as all related testing per project plans and specifications. Essential functions also include the preparation of Daily Field Reports, communication of deficiencies observed in the field to project manager, program manager, construction manager contractors, vendors, and subcontractors and the interpretation of project-related drawings and documents, as well as all other duties as assigned.
- Ensure safety rules and procedures are followed consistently.
- Responsible for reviewing construction contractor's quality management plan at the start of construction to verify compliance with project and regulatory code quality requirements. Responsible for maintaining QA/QC records of the project and/or contracts.
- Inspect to contract specifications the quality of various civil elements (concrete, asphalt, anchor bolts, and grouting.)
- Inspect concrete steel reinforcement and form work on beams, columns, footings, utilities.
- Inspect welding, bolting, silos, and chutes.
- Develop understanding/working knowledge of company quality control program, company standards, procedures, codes, etc. required to perform assigned work.
- Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work.
- Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records and other related items; assure correctness of all documents.
- Perform mechanical piping and equipment inspections.
- Assist in preparation/implementation of quality control procedures, i.e., inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment, etc.
- Assist in coordinating quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules.
- Participate in internal/external quality control audits.
- Assist in reviewing purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
- Other duties as required to ensure successful project completion.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years or more years of experience in support of design-build construction testing, inspection, supervision, or management in support of large greenfield projects.
- EPC experience preferred.
- Must have background and experience in Civil, and Mechanical Disciplines
- An understanding and experience with contract specifications as they apply to quality control and/or assurance (preferred)
- Highly proficient in computer skills and in MS Office suite
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in heat, rain, and cold. Able to work weekends and evenings as required by the project schedule.
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 °F and below 32 °F.
- Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
- Able to easily navigate on foot an operating construction site daily, including climbing stairs and scaffolding, walking through uneven and rough terrain, and entering confined spaces (as necessary).
- Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
- Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
- Willing and able to pull and lift, up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Must be able to transition between office, meetings, and onsite outdoor work.
