EHS/Environmental Specialist 
Our client is a is a leading global provider of adhesives, composites and formulation products.
 
They are seeking an EHS/Environmental Specialist at their Los Angeles, CA production facility.
 
This person will also be responsible to:
  • Acquire relevant environmental release event data for recordkeeping and reporting
  • Review maintenance and operations data to determine compliance, record and report
  • Provides technical support to engineering and operations staff for air, water, and/or waste management programs as an individual contributor
  • Support to wastewater treatment, testing, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements
  • Oversee handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. Prepare appropriate reports for state and federal agencies
  • Support plant operations by reviewing proposed process changes for environmental impacts and obtain appropriate authorizations
  • Maintain site and corporate metrics, and prepare associated reports
  • Train and orient new hire employees
  • Develop and conduct EHS and DOT compliance training
  • Conduct job safety analysis and update wok instructions
  • Engage in incident investigations and compile and submit statistical reports and updates
  • Generate and maintain documentation related to EHS initiatives
  • Contribute to implementation and administration of EHS programs and policies
  • Compile and maintain data for EHS regulatory reports
  • Complete internal audits of EHS programs

Required & Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Engineering, Technical with 1-3 years related experience
  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs
  • A general knowledge of California and Federal environmental regulatory programs
  • Specific knowledge of emission event reporting is desired
  • Ability to plan and organize tasks to consistently product results, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to function efficiently in a multi-disciplined, cross-functional environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with multiple layers of the organization
