Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Remote, Oregon preferred; candidates in other West Coast states (WA, CA) will also be considered
Compensation: $140,000–$160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
Work Environment: Remote, with limited travel for site visits and client meetings
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our expanding team. This is a leadership-level role focused on delivering complex structural engineering solutions while mentoring junior staff and maintaining strong client relationships.
You'll work across a wide range of heavy industrial and infrastructure projects, supporting everything from small retrofits to large-scale greenfield developments. The ideal candidate has a deep foundation in structural engineering, enjoys collaborating in a multi-discipline environment, and is confident in front of clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Design
- Lead structural design for foundations (shallow, mat, and deep) supporting pumps, vessels, buildings, and pipe racks
- Design steel structures including towers, pipe bridges, platforms, and multistory buildings
- Support marine infrastructure such as piers, walkways, bulkheads, and dolphins
- Deliver structural designs for occupied and non-occupied buildings (both prefabricated and stick-built)
- Conduct structural evaluations, retrofits, inspections, and construction support
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering both technical and soft skill development
- Manage structural scope on single- and multi-discipline projects
- Provide quality oversight and technical leadership across projects
- Contribute to team development and knowledge sharing
Client Engagement & Strategic Support
- Develop scopes of work, budgets, and resource plans
- Represent the company in client-facing meetings and project reviews
- Support early-phase engineering, feasibility studies, and permitting efforts
- Help identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposal efforts
Who We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- PE and SE licenses
- 20+ years of structural engineering experience, including leadership roles
- Proven experience in heavy industrial and/or renewable energy sectors
- Strong knowledge of design codes, standards, and best practices
- Skilled in leading projects from concept through construction
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with client-facing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in marine or bridge design
- Familiarity with permitting processes and early-stage project development
- Located in Oregon or open to relocation (relocation assistance available)
