Civil Engineering Technician 2 – Virtual Design & Data Solutions (Hybrid)
Hybrid | Must be located within 50 miles of a U.S.-based office | Preferred location: Tualatin, OR
We are seeking a Civil Engineering Technician 2 to join the Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) team in a hybrid role. The ideal candidate will be based in or near Tualatin, OR. Candidates located on the West Coast are preferred, with Mountain Time Zone as a third choice.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for long-term employment based on performance. A PE license is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the development of site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D.
Apply departmental and industry standards, systems, and document control processes.
Modify and develop deliverables based on engineering inputs.
Perform basic calculations including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
Coordinate with other project teams to minimize design conflicts.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
Stay current with new technologies and support process improvements.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D (especially plan/profile production)
Working knowledge of alignments, plan/profile, and sections in Civil 3D
Experience with Bentley MicroStation (2D/3D)
Familiarity with PLS-CADD
Prior exposure to overhead transmission projects
Proficiency in Bluebeam

Intermediate knowledge of CAD tools and modeling applications

Education & Experience:
Diploma or certificate preferred; associate degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology is a plus
Typically, 1+ years of relevant work experience
Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding, which may include a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records review
