Our client is a chemicals manufacturer and has a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Engineer/Specialist at their production facility in Plaquemine, LA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct field inspections and report on compliance with plant environmental programs.
• Maintain information systems that identify chemical inventories and storage locations.
• Attend project meetings to communicate environmental standards and requirements.
• Implement spill prevention programs and waste management.
• Keeping informed of current and proposed regulations related to program areas assigned.
• Assist with emission testing and coordinate regulatory required sampling.
• Assist with preparation of air, water, and waste regulatory reports.
• Provide coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science or relevant field.
• A minimum of one to two years of experience in a similar role.
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Aptitude to solve problems quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with employees from all levels of the organization.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Powerpoint.
• Ability to learn/utilize new software systems.
• Must possess a TWIC or be eligible to obtain a TWIC.
