Environmental Project Manager
Our client focuses on global environmental services offering environmental planning, permitting, sustainability solutions, measurement and analytical services. They are seeking a remote Environmental Project Manager within the state of California to lead and work alongside experienced engineers, biologists, scientists, technicians, associates, and policy experts to fulfill their project/client requirements for CEQA/NEPA compliance.
The Environmental Project Manager is a direct hire position and will also be responsible for:
- CEQA/NEPA compliance, technical writing, research and document production support, and coordination for other associated environmental projects.
- Environmental permitting and Tribes for Fee to Trusts projects (start to finish).
- Gathering data, conduct impact analysis, assist in preparing permit applications, coordinating with sub-consultants and other project team members and regulatory agencies.
- Heavy technical writing, report writing, mitigation preparation planning, overseeing project compliance with environmental policies and maintaining client interactions on a variety projects.
- Assist other Project Managers with budget and schedule tracking in addition to other project management duties as assigned.
- Deliver strategic environmental project planning knowledge and experience to help with projects across the Pacific Northwest, which include environmental impact analysis support, coordination on biological and cultural assessment support.
- Participation within the firm's ongoing improvement programs and provide support to the team.
- Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
- Business development activities, proposal preparation, task order preparation, and contract compliance.
- Exercise safe work practices at all times by following all company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including being present to all required safety training programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned with little to no supervision.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts and/or advanced degree in environmental science, environmental studies, or similar field.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of project planning as a senior-level environmental professional with increasing responsibilities (please be prepared to present and discuss previous managerial experience).
- A minimum of 7-10 years of knowledge and experience with current environmental regulations including CEQA and NEPA compliance/technical writing.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of knowledgeable of environmental permitting and Tribes for Fee to Trusts projects (start to finish).
- Program management working experience on high-volume, quick turnaround requests, while producing high quality and accurate products.
- Experience and knowledge of sustainability planning and air quality evaluations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail.
- Collecting, reviewing, and conclude outcomes using scientific data, drawings/maps, and presenting them to upper management.
- Demonstrated leadership role managing proposal efforts, contracts, and multiple project efforts simultaneously.
- Project management experience in the environmental field on a wide range of projects with a variety of clients.
- Experience working on all aspects of the project including proposal preparation, technical writing, client interactions, and field work (e.g., monitoring, site visits, site assessments).
- Ability to work on business development and marketing tasks.
- Experience and training in a specialized field such as environmental policies, wildlife biology, etc.
- Ability to create, manage, and interpret project/program tracking tools such as MS Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
- Ability to gain and maintain professional relationships with diverse groups including field staff, contractors, and clients.
Work Environment:
- REMOTE
Salary/Compensation:
- $80,000 to $130,000 (depending on experience)
