PTS Advance is looking for an I/E Plant Engineer for a long-term job in Commerce City, Colorado.  
This job is set to last until 4/2023, however could extend until end of 2026 and potentially direct.
Local candidates highly desirable but will consider per diem for the right fit.
 
Work Schedule - including any home working details. - no working from home, would work starting with a 5/8 schedule.  All engineers will be expected to work our T/A March-April of 2023 (extended hours of 6 days a week, 12-hour days for the duration)
 
This position handles day-to-day engineering support to ensure safe operation and production within their Cross Functional Team (CFT).  The I&E Plant Engineer will troubleshoot equipment problems which may include engaging internal and external technical resources.  Once a technical solution is recommended and agreed upon, they will typically lead the maintenance repair scope development and associated engineering and design needed while engaging applicable (CFT) members and other plant resources as needed.  This role is actively involved in outage and turnaround scope development and will provide the necessary engineering (and oversee design) to prepare for the outage/turnaround and directly support maintenance and turnaround groups through execution.

Role:
* They respond to asset failures and operational needs by supplying field support and timely repair scopes to effectively return assets to service
* They specialize in the shorter-term challenge of keeping assets operational capability and are less involved than their Reliability Engineer counterparts with proactive improvements and long-term strategies.
* Lead the appropriate prioritized small scope change to improve safety, environment and production risks
* Assess equipment condition, or health, to decide its capability for continued operation or duty
* Designs and develops equipment repair methods and procedures, initiates analysis of failures and provides technical troubleshooting, and communicates these concepts in detailed technical reports
* Determines cost advantages of repair alternatives and develops action plans that comply with demands for timely repair of processes/equipment.
* Act as first point of contact with maintenance for any activities that requires engineering analysis and approval
* Safety, including process safety is foundational to all engineering
* Engage other business units, business partners, internal and external expertise to leverage knowledge and lessons learned for your business unit and function.
Included:
Safety:  Support the safety program by ensuring that all engineered solutions are safely implemented.
Incident Response: Support the incident investigation process by participating in reliability related formal investigations of level 3 and up incidents, and leading incident investigations for more complex asset failure incidents.   With level 4 incidents, they should be documented, and investigated as required. Maintenance engineers generally act as the first point of contact for equipment investigations. More specifically, the maintenance engineer should investigate equipment issues and failures that are smaller, and that they are capable of investigating on their own without a team of people. Ensure timely close out of investigations and corrective actions.
Asset Criticality: Provide feedback to Reliability for recommended criticality updates and adjustments.  Provide feedback to Reliability, for improvement of asset strategy program effectiveness, when opportunities arise. Support condition monitoring and predictive monitoring programs by following-up and appropriately addressing anything that is or will be outside of established limits.
Bad Actors: Flag bad actor candidates to Reliability where applicable. Provide feedback, expertise and execute components of bad actor resolution plans through SAP TECH notifications. Only by exception should a maintenance engineer lead a bad actor resolution plan.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Comply with of regulatory requirements and any company practices, procedures and governing documents.   
  • Act as the advocate for Engineering PMs and Inspections.
  • Support and facilitate the deferral process, because of short-term deferral needs, and promote to reliability for interval changes when required.
Continuous Improvement: 
  • Provide improvement opportunities to Reliability for maintenance check sheets.
  • Provide strategy or PM improvements to reliability, including materials, based on feedback from maintenance and other plant knowledge.
  • Identify improvement opportunities related to equipment repair time or efficiency. Other reliability improvement ideas should be passed to reliability for potential addition to the reliability improvement plan such as, start-up/shut-down procedure improvements to extend asset life or equipment with chronic issues or failures.
  • Assess new/unique technologies or procedures for inspection, repair, and maintenance.
