Our client provides oil and gas producers across North America with a full complement of midstream services.

They are currently looking for multiple I&E Technicians (various levels) for long-term positions in Gillette, WY.

The Instrument and Electrical Technician is an integral member of the Operations Team. They perform maintenance, calibration, and installation of facilities instrumentation and electrical equipment. The I & E Tech provides technical support/troubleshooting for field PLC / RTU equipment and ensures safety and environmental stewardship is a priority for themselves, peers, contractors, or other personnel on company property. They provide leadership and teaching opportunities to less experienced personnel and treat colleagues, supervisors, management, and customers in a professional, positive, and helpful manner. They are expected to lead less experienced personnel by example.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Installs, repairs, and calibrates electrical / pneumatic control equipment and electrical switchgear up to 480VAC. May also work with up to 4160VAC in our processing plants.
- Installs/troubleshoots AC/DC control equipment and familiar with PID loops/tuning.
- Provides technical support/troubleshooting for field PLC / HMI/ SCADA equipment.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains DCS equipment.
- Conducts activities to ensure compliance with EHS policies, O&M policies & procedures, administrative requirements, and industry practices and regulations.
- Anticipates maintenance issues and equipment and facility needs, taking ownership for proper maintenance and operation in order to assure maximum runtime of equipment; reports all issues to the supervisor.
- Performs compliance inspections.
- Maintains compliance and regulatory related documentation.
- Assists others with construction and operations projects, and other divisions of field operations as necessary.
- Pressure washes, cleans, organizes, and takes ownership of assigned equipment and facilities, including assigned vehicle.


Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental policies
- Extensive knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC/HMI/VFD Programming and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of additional platforms/software such as Maple/Red Lion/DeltaV
- Be able to read/interpret NEC code book to ensure work meets necessary code requirements
- Established residence within work area to be able to respond to on-call requests within one hour
- Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods to include weekends and holidays
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, and Outlook

 

I&E Technician I

· 0-3+ years Oil and Gas industry experience preferred, Midstream sector a plus

I&E Technician II

· 4+ years Oil and Gas industry experience preferred, Midstream sector a plus

· 4+ years Oil and Gas I & E Technician or related industry experience

I&E Technician III

· 8+ years Oil and Gas industry experience preferred, Midstream sector a plus

· 8+ years Oil and Gas I & E Technician or related industry experience


Physical requirements:

- Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Climbing. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
- Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.


Working Conditions: The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.


Compensation: Rate $28.00 - $50.00 hourly DOE
