Responsibilities will include the safe operation of high-pressure reactors, gas chromatography sample analysis, pilot plant support duties, and performing basic preventive maintenance on equipment in the primary area of responsibility. Some physical lifting is required, including the movement of 55-gallon drums of liquid chemicals and gas cylinders. The candidate will maintain close, cooperative relationships with fellow technicians, research chemists & engineers. The successful candidate will be trained extensively in safety and environmental procedures and will be expected to become a leader in the laboratory safety program.  The successful candidate will be provided with and utilize personal protective equipment such as protective foot wear, hearing protection, eye/face protection, hard hat, gloves, chemical and/or fire-retardant clothing, etc. as required by each job role. Verbal communications skills are essential, as are solid interpersonal and teamwork skills with an exceptional drive to accomplish work results.

Pay: $22-27/hr
Duration: 6 month contract
Schedule: 9/80 schedule Monday-Friday

Required Qualifications:
-High School Diploma or GED
-Ability to utilize computers, perform mathematical calculations, and document observations and data in laboratory notebooks    

Preferred Qualifications:
-Associates or Bachelor's degree in a technical field
-Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
-Familiarity with pyrophoric materials and glovebox use
-At least 2 years experience working as a lab technician
-Experience with hazardous materials, glassware, GC, autoclave and/or continuous flow reactor
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
