PTS Advance is looking for a Lab Technician with 2-4 years of experience to work on site at our Clients Site in Richmond. The lab technician is to perform routine analytical laboratory tests for the characterization of crude oil and its products to assist researchers with the development of new technologies in the oil and gas industry.  The lab technician works under the supervision of a scientist.

Pay rate: $32.00 hr.

Start date: 9/10/2025

Working hours: 5/40-day shift

Job Responsibilities: 

Set up, adjust, maintain, operate and clean analytical laboratory equipment.

Analyze the results of tests and experiments to ensure conformity to quality specifications, using wet preparation procedures and advanced analytical equipment such as NMR and GC-MS. 

Analyze, gather and record test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs and narratives. 

Assignment Deliverables: 

- 28 hour turn around time for samples submitted for routine testing.

- Operate incident and injury free

- Assist the scientist with special requests and deliver results in a timely manner

Skills: 

Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. 

Ability to work independently and manage one's time. 

Basic knowledge of the information and techniques used in an analytical testing laboratory. 

Ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results. 

Education/Experience: 

High school diploma or GED required. 

BS degree in Chemistry or related field preferred. 

2-4 years experience required.
