About the Role
A leading engineering and design organization is seeking Life Safety Systems (LSS) Designers to support advanced facility projects across multiple U.S. office locations. This position plays a key role in delivering complex life safety and low-voltage design packages in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Candidates will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and design leads while working in AutoCAD and Revit MEP to develop high-quality 3D models and life safety system layouts.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and support 3D BIM models in AutoCAD and Revit MEP for life safety and security systems
Prepare design layouts for:
Fire Alarm Detection Systems
Voice Evacuation Systems
VESDA
Gas Detection & HPM Leak Detection
Toxic Gas Management Systems
Access Control & CCTV
Security and Intrusion Detection Systems
Coordinate design activities with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices
Produce accurate drawings, documentation, and design packages for review and construction
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years of AutoCAD experience
Experience designing or drafting life safety, fire alarm, gas detection, security, or low-voltage systems
Familiarity with Revit (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
3–5 years of Life Safety Systems design experience
Knowledge of:
IFC, IBC
NFPA 70
NFPA 101 Life Safety Code
NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code
Experience with fire/life safety system manufacturers and equipment
Industrial or advanced facilities design experience
Autodesk Certification (ACP) or similar drafting/design certifications
