Position Overview:
We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled team of technicians at our advanced manufacturing facility in Frederick, Maryland. This role is responsible for overseeing equipment maintenance, supporting process improvements, and modernizing practices through digital tools and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring both leadership ability and hands-on experience in high-paced, industrial environments.

This role is responsible for overseeing equipment maintenance, supporting process improvements, and modernizing practices through digital tools and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring both leadership ability and hands-on experience in high-paced, industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Safety
- Supervise a team of technicians and hourly leads, managing performance, scheduling, and development.
- Ensure full compliance with safety and environmental programs across all maintenance activities.
- Conduct regular job prioritization and manage the work order backlog based on production needs and resource availability.
Maintenance Operations
- Schedule and oversee the maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment to minimize production downtime.
- Implement and lead a robust preventive maintenance program in collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams.
- Ensure that maintenance processes are well-documented and consistently followed.
Digital Tools & Continuous Improvement
- Utilize AI-based platforms, analytics dashboards, and condition-monitoring systems to drive maintenance efficiency.
- Apply predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and oil analysis to monitor equipment health.
- Partner with engineering and IT teams to implement automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Review key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintenance metrics to drive data-informed decisions and performance optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with departments such as Engineering, Quality, HR, and Production to resolve issues and support smooth operations.
- Assist in preparing and managing departmental budgets and resources.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training for team members to support performance, safety, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field preferred (may be substituted with 15+ years of industrial experience).
- Minimum of 5–10 years' experience in manufacturing environments.
- Formal Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing training is a plus (certification required within 3–5 years of employment).
- Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and implementing process improvements.
Technical Competencies
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems, utilities, process control, conveying systems, and facility infrastructure.
- Experience with CMMS platforms, maintenance dashboards, and root cause analysis tools.
- Familiarity with digital twins, IoT sensors, and AI-driven troubleshooting tools is preferred.

- Strong communicator with effective coaching and leadership abilities.
- Demonstrated success leading teams through technological transitions and plant modernization.
- Agile problem solver with a proactive mindset and ability to prioritize in fast-paced environments.
Work Schedule & Physical Requirements:
- Day shift, Monday–Friday, with flexibility for early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on operational needs.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and around hot, loud, or chemically exposed environments.
- Use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
