Position: Manufacturing Data Scientist
Overview: As a Manufacturing Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in driving AI and data-driven analytics strategies to enhance the quality, safety, and efficiency of our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing AI/ML predictive models and analytics as part of our client's autopilot initiative, which aims to digitize production lines, ensure equipment reliability, and enable autonomous control of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the scoping, execution, and successful completion of projects.
- Develop and deploy machine learning models, predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics, and advanced analytics using Digital Twins.
- Conduct data visualization and statistical analysis to minimize waste, improve availability, and enhance quality within manufacturing processes.
- Apply mathematical techniques such as frequency distribution, reliability testing, analysis of variance, correlation analysis, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
- Utilize advanced Six Sigma and statistical process control methods to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Present findings and recommendations to peers, managers, and executives through reports, business correspondence, and presentations.
- Interpret complex technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle multiple abstract and concrete variables.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, or Engineering.
- 4 to 10 years of relevant work experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Proficiency in drafting reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from peers, managers, and executives.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, including defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
- In-depth understanding of advanced Six Sigma and statistical process control principles, including control charts, variation analysis, cause-and-effect relationships, the Pareto principle, and process capability.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to drive projects to completion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Proficiency in Transact-SQL, Minitab, and RapidMiner.
- Experience with advanced data science and machine learning tools and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly with AI/ML implementation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
