Material Coordinator
Our client is seeking a Material Coordinator with knowledge of various types of industrial materials such as bolts, gaskets, or valves. This person will take the BOM (Bill of Materials) from the planner, review and clarify, and use the details to select from material masters the equipment that procurement need to purchase. This person will work with the planner, who defines the scope in the field, and work toward an end result which is a clean BOM for procurement.
Responsibilities
- Track BOM's upon receipt and assign SAP Material Master numbers to BOM components
- Progress BOM's through approval stages
- Submit, review and manage SAP Material Master creation requests.
- Participate in weekly meetings/discussions with procurement, planning, engineering, & inspection
- Follow up on action items throughout the week
- Populate and maintain Long Lead Material Summary for event
- Coordinate deliveries with warehouse and suppliers to ensure adequate support is available for larger items.
- Compile complete list of materials being sent out for repair/overhaul
- Assist with vendor strategy for repairs to be completed
- Provide lists and documents to warehouse
- Obtain delivery commitments from suppliers
- During execution, touch base with suppliers daily regarding status of items and ETA's
- Obtain quotes for BOM's when needed
- Place Purchase Requisitions for BOM Materials
- Identify and verify consigned materials on BOM
- Run weekly reports for materials ordered and follow up on overdue items
- Follow up on work-list BOM status - Communicate with Area Lead to ensure all materials are being captured.
- Update materials reports daily during execution
- Follow up with repair items nearing their pull and/or return dates
Required Skills
- Must be computer literate and detail oriented.
- Proficient in MS Office and Excel.
- Ability to learn new systems and computer platforms.
- Experience with SAP is highly recommended.
Experience
- Over 3 years of Material Management experience, ideally in a Refinery or other applicable heavy industrial environments.
- Must be proficient with MS Office and Excel.
- Knowledge of material found in industrial environments
Pay: $35-$48/hr
