Position Title: Mechanical Superintendent

Position Summary:
PTS Advance is seeking a skilled Mechanical Superintendent to lead field operations across mechanical scopes of large-scale industrial projects. This individual will drive safety, quality, and productivity, ensuring mechanical construction activities are executed in alignment with project goals and timelines.

The Mechanical Superintendent will coordinate and supervise subcontractor activities related to piping (carbon, stainless, and alloy), rotating and stationary equipment, structural steel, welding, insulation, hydrostatic testing, rigging, coatings, and fire protection systems. This role will be responsible for project execution, site safety, schedule adherence, and quality performance, ensuring all work complies with design documents, project standards, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical field construction efforts, including planning, scheduling, and overseeing daily operations.

Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, conduct regular safety audits, and enforce job site safety practices.

Manage mechanical subcontractors to meet contractual, quality, and schedule requirements.

Conduct daily progress reports and photo documentation of site activities.

Review and track subcontractor 3-week lookahead schedules to identify work concerns or adjustments.

Verify material deliveries, storage conditions, and any required temporary protection measures.

Support QA/QC efforts including welder qualifications and system inspections.

Oversee hydrostatic testing, alignments, system walkdowns, and punch list development.

Maintain accurate field documentation, including redlines, as-built drawings, RFIs, and change orders.

Coordinate with project management, procurement, and engineering teams to resolve field issues.

Ensure field staff are using the latest design documents and drawings.

Monitor field labor and equipment utilization to optimize performance.

Support site logistics including tool and material management.

Perform additional responsibilities as required to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 11 years of relevant mechanical construction or craft supervisory experience;
OR Associate Degree with 9 years experience;
OR Bachelor's Degree with 7 years experience in similar mechanical project roles.

Proven leadership in field supervision and subcontractor coordination.

Strong knowledge of construction drawings, including isometrics, structural layouts, and P&IDs.

Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Strong safety focus and demonstrated history of safe field execution.

Work Environment:
Field-based, industrial construction environment. Role requires walking, climbing, and standing on uneven surfaces, and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
