They are looking to add a Payroll and Benefits professional to join their growing team.


The Role:

The Payroll and Benefits Manager will be responsible for payroll & benefits compliance and processing for exempt and non-exempt employees in the United States. This role is available to candidates in either the Charleston, SC or Deerfield Beach, FL areas and is hybrid. 


Responsibilities:

  • Implementation, ownership and maintenance of the Human Capital Management System.
  • Perform bi-weekly payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt employees ensuring accurate hours, pay rates and deductions are applied.
  • Partner with managers cross-functionally to streamline the approval of hours, improve payroll cycle time, and reduce errors.
  • Implement appropriate system of internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of processed payroll.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources colleagues in the implementation and administration various payroll topics including complex pay structures, fringe benefits, and FMLA.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of PTO, wellness, and benefit programs, such as employer paid and voluntary benefits, flexible spending plans, and retirement plans.
  • Assist with the annual benefits open enrollment process and ensure distribution of employee annual notices/open enrollment communication.
  • Develop benefits information and statistical and census data for actuaries, insurance carriers and management as needed.
  • Responsible for review and execution of all federal, state, and local payroll tax filings and annual IRS Form W-2 distribution.
  • Prepare payroll and benefit accounting entries and accruals.
  • Partner with Finance and HR to develop and maintain standard reports for various operational analyses and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor benefit enrollment reports to ensure accuracy and periodically audit/reconcile monthly premium statements.
  • Address internal and external payroll related inquiries.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding COBRA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and workers' compensation.
  • CPP/FPC certification required; HRCI or SHRM certification a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills with ability to interpret data, detect trends, draw conclusions, and formulate recommendations.
  • Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment with advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Proficiency with HR, Benefit Provider and Payroll information systems. System implementation experience a plus.
