Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Design Development: Create detailed schematics and specifications for piping systems using CAD software, particularly AutoCAD.
• Field Verification: Spend up to 50% of time in the field to gather and verify technical information. Tasks include inspecting process units, tank farms, and other industrial environments, which may involve climbing enclosed ladders (20-30 ft) and working from scaffolds.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, construction teams, and operations personnel to ensure designs meet project requirements.
• System Review: Inspect and update existing piping systems and schematics based on current standards and requirements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to industry codes and regulations.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, including system specifications, material requirements, and timelines, for stakeholders.
• Technical Calculations: Perform basic calculations such as pressure, flow rate, and stress factors.

Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience in piping drafting, with strong field experience.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Knowledge of P&ID, piping components, valves, and related symbols.
• Physical Requirements: Comfortable with industrial fieldwork, including climbing and scaffold work.
• Education: Associate degree in drafting, mechanical design, or a related field is typically required.
