Role Summary
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the coordinating of maintenance activities while minimizing costs by utilizing sound planning practices, which includes efficient utilization of labor, parts, materials, and outside vendor services.  The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler develops quality job plans for routine and non-routine maintenance.  
 
Job Accountabilities
  • Develop job plans focused on safety, quality and efficiency.  
  • Identifies and obtains necessary materials, work instructions, manuals, appropriate tools, procedures, checklists, etc. to execute the planned work order
  • Evaluate options to accomplish work to determine least cost alternatives
  • Develops Preventative Maintenance job plans, including procedures, collaborating with Reliability Engineering
  • Create requisitions for required parts for all preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance activities as applicable
  • Assure the scope and cost of Contractor work is clearly defined, purchase orders are approved, and equipment will be available for the work performed as required
  • Works with all departments to ensure preventive maintenance spare parts are accurate for each work order
  • Review and assure work orders are progressed per RAMS process
  • Follow up/review completed PM for notes/improvements to ensure planning effectiveness
  • Assist maintenance supervisor with technical support and in the field as needed (i.e. call-ins, emergency break-downs, routine outages, etc.)
  • Work with Maintenance Supervisor to write preventative maintenance job tasks to include frequency, durations, parts, manpower, and documentation required
  • Evaluate ready for scheduling work and work with OMC to develop soft and hard schedules
  • Support the development of medium and long term maintenance schedules verifying the schedules are correctly prioritized
  • Responsible for facilitating the Daily Maintenance Plan Meeting
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of activities in equipment maintenance
  • Experience with maintenance management systems for record keeping and parts requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of maintenance processes
  • Proven understanding of financial concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks in an effective manner and meet established deadlines
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of Company personnel
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to anticipate and adapt to changing situations
  • Ability to perform tasks that include walking, climbing equipment, working within confined spaces
  • Proven ability to speak, write and understand English language
  • Must pass drug test, fit-for duty test and background check
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
 
Desired Characteristics
  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Technical or Engineering discipline
  • Five (5) years of experience in maintenance planning
  • Five (5) years of experience in maintenance role in refinery, chemical, petrochemical or industrial facility
  • Working knowledge of SAP, CMMS, AutoCAD  or other drafting knowledge 
  • Knowledge of the core principles of 5-S, Six Sigma or lean manufacturing and waste reduction
