Contracts Writer

Client: Tank Terminal 
Location: Downtown New Orleans
Duration: Ongoing Long Term, no end

Experience:
This person should understand the contracts process.
Should be able to engage vendor, set up vendors, get contract ready to be signed, and get agreement set up and in place.
Vendor negotiating skills is a huge plus
NO signing authority
Software: Excel & Word
Willing to train someone that has procurement experience. (from Risk group, TAR Buyer, etc...)

Job Responsibilities:
* Knowledgeable of and maintain a copy of the client's cost control management
systems, procedures, and practices
* Serve as a liaison between maintenance, purchasing, and legal
* Prepare contract and procurement legal instruments including the negotiation of
commercial requirements and terms and conditions, obtaining delegation of
authority approvals, and verifying the execution of contractual documents
* Issue Purchase Orders in a timely and efficient manner
* Act as the primary contact between company and outside material providers
* Document any supplier non-compliances and issue notices of such to all involved
parties
* Facilitate problem resolution between supplier and business unit on issues such
as damaged material, warranty repairs, expediting material to meet schedule,
etc.
* Verify compliance with procurement practices for the purchases of material
including bidding thresholds, bid waivers, approvals, and other documentation
required
* Work with Accounts Payable on closing Purchase Orders, adjusting material
groups, adding new vendors, etc.
* Assist business unit with bid packages for required material
* Facilitate and negotiate all material bids over $250 thousand
* Understand and apply the applicable terms and conditions to the purchase order
for the requested Scope of Work
* Serve as the material/services buyer for products materials or services as needed
* Provide diligent follow up on open items and communicate regular to all involved
on the material status
* Identify saving opportunities for IMTT through bidding, negotiation, and
avoidances
