Job Overview: We are seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor for an office-based position focused on reviewing, approving, and certifying land surveys, legal descriptions, and related documents. In this role, you will not be performing field surveys but will be responsible for validating the accuracy of survey data, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and stamping work to certify its accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and approve boundary surveys, subdivision plats, topographic maps, and other survey documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Stamp and certify ALTA/NSPS land title surveys and elevation certificates, confirming their adherence to industry and legal requirements for commercial real estate transactions and zoning purposes.
  • Approve and stamp legal descriptions of property boundaries and other land features for use in deeds, titles, and other legal documents.
  • Review and approve sketches and descriptions for land development projects, ensuring they align with survey data and regulatory requirements.
  • Stamp off certificates of survey, attesting that surveys were conducted and the results are accurate, often required for zoning, permitting, or legal purposes.
  • Ensure that all reviewed and approved surveys comply with local, state, and federal surveying regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure that survey data meets the necessary standards for planning, construction, and land development.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in [State].
  • Proven experience reviewing and approving boundary surveys, subdivision plats, and other land documents.
  • Strong knowledge of ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, elevation certificates, and legal descriptions.
  • Familiarity with surveying software, legal requirements, and industry standards for land surveys.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to ensuring the accuracy and compliance of survey documents.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with engineers, architects, and legal professionals regarding survey approvals.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience reviewing large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and CAD software for survey mapping.
