PTS Advance has and immediate need for a Project Manager with strong construction background.
You will be responsible for the coordination, execution, and successful completion of construction
projects with emphasis on industrial, healthcare, and occupied facility environments.
Oversees all aspects of project delivery including planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing,
execution, risk management, and closeout. Manage projects ranging from approximately $1MM–$5MM+.
- Start date - ASAP
- 4–5-month contract position duration could longer
- Hours to start - 40 hrs. a week - could ramp up into the project
- Pay rate - 120k a yr. (95k-120k) DOE
- Local candidates preferred, familiar with California permitting and code requirements
Responsibilities
Provides leadership and direction to Superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen, and
project support personnel to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, and in
alignment with customer expectations and company objectives.
Ensures projects are performed in a safe, compliant, and cost-effective manner while
maintaining operational continuity for active facilities.
Duties
- Understand, communicate, and enforce Company Safety Program.
- Participate in job walks, bid meetings, and customer planning sessions to understand
project scope and operational constraints. - Review scope of work and support estimating in development of proposals,
schedules, execution plans, and staffing plans. - Define project scope, duration, resources, costs, and project execution strategy.
- Provide project management for scheduling, tracking, issue management, risk
management, change management, forecasting, and reporting. - Assign and coordinate Subcontractors, and self-performing Project Supervision,
- General Foremen, Foremen, and craft labor resources..
- Deliver accurate and timely operational and financial reporting. Exercise delegated financial and signing authority.
- Travel regularly as required.
- Participate in project meetings, engineering meetings, planning meetings, and safety
Meetings.
Healthcare / Hospital Coordination
- Lead planning and execution of construction projects within active healthcare and
occupied environments while minimizing disruption to patient care and operations. - Coordinate with hospital facilities teams, engineering groups, inspectors, and end
- users.
- Develop and manage shutdown plans, utility outages, tie-ins, swing space
transitions, and phased construction sequences. - Ensure compliance with healthcare construction requirements, permit requirements
- and authority inspections.
Facilitate multidisciplinary coordination meetings to manage schedule impacts,
access constraints, and stakeholder communication. - Manage commissioning, startup, owner training, documentation turnover, and
- project closeout activities.
- Support execution planning for critical systems including electrical infrastructure,
backup power, controls, and operational continuity.
Required Skills:
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong understanding of industrial and healthcare construction practices, codes, and
- regulations.
- Experience coordinating among engineering, operations, field supervision, owners,
- inspectors, and contractors.
- Strong written and verbal communication and excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of estimating, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and project
- controls.
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, and project scheduling software.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience managing projects in active hospitals or occupied facilities preferred.
- Knowledge of utility shutdown coordination and phased construction execution.
- Familiarity with commissioning, turnover, and healthcare authority inspections preferred.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years' experience as a project manager.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in construction industry.
- Experience managing projects in occupied or mission-critical environments preferred.
